Big Huge Games is looking forward to release their latest entry in the Just Cause series - Just Cause 3. It's the most ambitious open-world game they've designed yet, promising to give players an experience that would make most video games jealous. The development team has released a teaser trailer that shows off this 3rd installment of Just cause 2 with jaw-dropping visuals, amazing action sequences and all the destruction we've come to expect from the franchise. (You may want to read the previous paragraph again and again, because seeing is believing). The game is said to arrive on November 11, 2014 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. PC version will be available through digital distribution platforms like Steam and Gog.com. It's quite obvious that the trailer was intended for consoles, but at the same time it leaves us with a lot of questions regarding PC version of Just Cause 3. We are anxious to see if Avalanche Software has something special planned for PC users. This year's E3 was all about next-gen consoles, so it's no surprise that the trailer lacks any high-end visuals. It shows us something between current gen titles and next-gen ones. Upon closer inspection, however, I defy you to find any negative remarks about the quality of graphics in this trailer. There are no reflections to be seen, no lighting effects or volumetric fog. Not to mention that the game is running at a locked 30 frames per second. All these things are not noticeable when playing the trailer on TV, but when watching it in full screen, they start to stand out. The audio track also seems rather odd to me for a high-end release. It's almost off-putting to listen to after hearing all the great things PC gamers have been promised by Nvidia and AMD about their next generation graphics cards. Even though the trailer is a bit shaky at some points, it's hard to miss out on seeing a civilian airplane being blown up with a rocket launcher. More specifically, the terrorist that gets shot down in a hail of bullets looks pretty damn tasty. It's actually quite ironic that he gets killed by his own rocket launcher. We also see some sort of military personal with an assault rifle and a shotgun. There are no details about whether these are enemy or friendly factions within the game. The trailer ends with Rico flying away from an exploding helicopter and boarding a plane, which has been achieved in one smooth cutscene animation. The whole trailer is pretty short, clocking in at about 40 seconds. This is an excellent length for a teaser, but it all seems rather contrived. That said, I guess they wanted to show us that their upcoming title can truly deliver jaw-dropping destruction with little effort. Perhaps most interesting of all is how Rico's trademark parachute deploys instead of being used as a shield during the boss battle. It feels like something is left unsaid or maybe they are simply holding back on the final version so as not to spoil the surprise for anyone who has waited too long for Just Cause 3? "We have never seen an enemy helicopter blown up by an RPG before.
